July’s a busy month for events all over Milton Keynes. Your invitations to our permablitzes at Westbury Arts Centre start from this Sunday 1 July.
Our next planning meeting will take place on Thursday 17th May from 7 – 8pm, and will be followed by our weekend Permablitz (with “Bring & Share” lunch) on Sunday 20th May from 11am – 1pm.
A big thank you to everyone who has contributed to the project so far. Here’s the first of a two part update on some of the most recent developments, starting with the latest on our “Project & plot resources”.
Part Two of our project development updates concerns new friends and upcoming events.
Our next permablitz is scheduled for Sunday 29 April from 11am – 1pm for us to spend a couple of hours tidying up the plot.
Please bring some snacks for a “Bring & Share” if you’d like to stick around for a bite to eat at lunchtime following the permablitz.
Our March permablitzes are coming around fast. Following our planning meeting on Thursday 15th March from 7 – 8pm, we have our weekend gardening blitz scheduled for Saturday 17th March from 2 – 4pm and our weekday one set for Wednesday 28th March from 10am – 1pm.
Thank you to Transition Town Milton Keynes for organising the film screening of: ‘The Soil Solution to Climate Change’ on Thursday evening at Central Milton Keynes library. The film (and demonstration) gave us a thought-provoking appreciation of the humble soil beneath our feet – not only for the “living universe” it presents, but for the key it holds to unlocking a possible solution to the global climate crisis…
A big thank you to the local Costa in Westcroft, Milton Keynes for agreeing to donate their coffee grounds. They will be a very welcome, nitrogen-rich addition to our garden compost. And while we’re on the subject of compost, we thought we’d post this Composting 101 infographic.
The afternoon “hands-on” session spent in the garden – building beds from a lasagna mulch and creating compost bins from hay bales.
