Transition Town MK Film Night: The Happening
February 18 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Transition Town Milton Keynes (TTMK) is hosting a film night on Tuesday 18 February to view “The Happening” created by the Robert Redford Foundation.
About the film:
Filmmaker James Redford embarks on a colourful personal journey into the dawn of the clean energy era as it creates jobs, turns profits, and makes communities stronger and healthier across the US. Unlikely entrepreneurs in communities from Georgetown, TX to Buffalo, NY reveal pioneering clean energy solutions while James’ discovery of how clean energy works, and what it means at a personal level, becomes the audiences’ discovery too. Reaching well beyond a great story of technology and innovation, “Happening” explores issues of human resilience, social justice, embracing the future, and finding hope for our survival.
Attendees can expect lots of opportunity for discussion
Taking place at The Tecton Art Centre in the south of the city from 6pm and finishing around 9pm, we will have time to enjoy some refreshments, watch the film and exchange ideas about the topic and potential local action to tackle climate change as part of this social evening.
The event is free to attend but donations are welcome to help TTMK cover costs and continue to run events like this. (Why not come 45 mins early and get a bite to eat at the Fenny Kitchen who have kindly let us use the Tecton Centre free of charge.)
