Following the success of the Community Fridge in The Bath House in Wolverton another fridge is now open in the south of the city.
Woughton Community Fridge opened in November 2018 at the Community Council Hub in Coffee Hall local centre.
With a throughput of around 120 -130 kg of food per week from Costco via a Church group and from a Tesco store, all the food collected is redistributed within about half an hour; mostly to local people.
This parish council initiative is aimed at local residents and is proving a good way to build community engagement. Hence, another Fridge is planned to open shortly in The Chapel, Broadlands, Netherfield.
