Gardeners need to sow their vegetables at the right time of year and in the right place. Some can be sown directly into the ground outside, while others need to be planted indoors for more protection and warmth.

The majority of vegetables should be sown in Spring and harvesting typically starts in mid-Summer.

What to Sow, Grow & Pick

This guide helps you to identify what to be sowing, growing and stowing away, but for help getting started check out our guide About Growing Your Own Food.

Recipes & Foraging Too!

For more information about what to pick from the forest garden and to forage at different times of the year, check out our News/ blog pages. There, you can filter by category to find what we have shared over the years – ranging from “Food” info in general, to “Foraging” and “Recipes”.
