Latest project developments…
Part One.
Project & Plot Resources
A big thank you to everyone who has contributed to the project so far. Over the last couple of months we’ve not only acquired more helping hands, but also plenty of useful material for the project and some fantastic contacts in our local community.
We have lots of new things for the garden thanks to your kind donations. Our latest additions include:
- 3x compost bins for us to generate our own soil from organic waste material
- 1x water butt
- Some tyres for potato plants to be grown in
- Some wooden pallets for us to make some furniture (- Having been advised against making raised beds from them.)
- Cardboard and newspaper for mulching
- 2x raspberry canes
- A few permaculture books have generously been lent to our volunteer group. They will be available to borrow at the permablitz tomorrow (Sunday 29 April). Alternatively, please contact us for more info or to make alternative arrangements for you to borrow one.
- We have found a greenhouse. It just needs assembling! (Guess what’s on our future permablitz agenda?!)
- Our bid for a MK Community Foundation small grant application has been submitted. We should hear the outcome by 20 May.
- Fingers crossed for a positive result so that we can start spending on some plants and all the materials we need for Planting Up our community garden at Westbury Arts Centre.
