We are looking for gardeners to bring their enthusiasm and knowledge to people interested in learning how to grow their own food in wildlife-friendly ways.
There is no barrier to the gardening activities we can offer at our Grapevine Coffee Hall site, so this is your opportunity to get creative; helping us to plan what we do to establish the garden.
We aim to show how gardening can be fun and done together as a community, in ways that support wildlife and demonstrate how anyone can grow their own food.
In return for whatever time you can give to support our gardening group on Friday mornings, you will be helping the lonely and isolated people who come along to get outdoors and connect with people, nature and to learn new things.
This opportunity will suit a self-starter who has the ability to teach basic gardening skills and help grow some vegetables, herbs, and edible flowers in a small garden on Friday mornings.
Tact, patience, and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people is needed as you will need to work with small groups of people with different gardening abilities and that may include vulnerable adults.
There is no long-term commitment asked of our volunteers, and never any obligation to do anything you don’t want to do. After all, volunteering is about us doing something altruistic that makes us feel good, so having some fun doing it just as important to us too.
